Arborist

Full-time position for a climber in the arborist department. The individual must have the ability to apply standard tree and shrub pruning techniques with minimal or no supervision. Individual will be expected to learn required advanced techniques to prune or remove trees over obstacles and in hot or cold weather. Daily tasks will include working in trees to perform all general tree care (i.e. cabling, bracing, pruning and removals), having full knowledge of how all tree care equipment is used to complete work in the safest way possible (i.e. chainsaws, pole and hand saws, chipper, aerial lift, stump grinder), and effectively participating in all job safety briefings. One must always be aware of all hazards to ensure the work area is kept safe and be able to maintain all climbing gear and tree care equipment in safe working order to ensure safe, efficient and high quality tree care. Individual will also assist in removing debris, chipping brush and cleaning up work site after each job.

Qualifications:
  • Basic climbing experience and skills
  • Proficient knowledge of knot, rigging and climbing gear
  • Have or obtain valid CDL
  • Follow and abide by all safety rules and policies of Hawks tree care department
  • Ability to complete production work in a timely manner
  • Have or obtain arborist certifications through ISA
  • Must be courteous and friendly to property owners
  • Must be able to follow direction and complete the requests of crew foreman
